Dr. Kamau Kokayi, M.D.
Dr. Kamau Kokayi is a Yale trained physician with over thirty years of practice in the field of Alternative and Holistic medicine.
Dr. Kokayi distinguished himself as a scholar at Cornell University and passed on a full scholarship to law school and entrance to Harvard medical school. Instead he pursued a unique course of study at Yale medical school in 1978 where he focused on what was then called Holistic medicine.
With the completion of his family practice residency with Board Certification, along with parallel training in the fields of homeopathy and Chinese medicine, and later applied kinesiology, Dr. Kokayi entered the field of primary care medicine in 1985. He has cultivated his craft and augmented his diagnostic and therapeutic skill set with countless workshops, trainings, and trips to various parts of the world, seeking out medical wisdom from other cultures and civilizations.
Dr Gary Rinzler, M.D.
Dr. Rinzler is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is specialty trained in Pain Management and certified in Addiction Medicine. He routinely treats patients for addiction and medication dependence. There is always a safe, predictable approach to taper any medication for most patients, and often these medications can eventually be discontinued. The plan for this is carefully tailored for each patient.
Dr. Rinzler has more experience than any physician in the region with the Fisher Wallace CES – which is FDA approved to treat anxiety, depression and insomnia. The initial use of the FW CES is medically supervised, especially if a patient has been taking strong pain medications, antidepressants, or anxiety medications, often for years, and would like to stop using these meds.
He has been treating patients and teaching interns, resident physicians, and colleagues, complex pain treatment and physical medicine for over 30 years.
Dr. Paul Newton, D.C.
Dr. Newton has been achieving superior results for those who suffer from chronic pain. Our office has served the Long Beach area for over 20 years and is the first choice for medical doctors, Chiropractors, and Long Beach State athletes. Dr. Newton is an athlete and understands the stress it delivers to the body.
We have on-site x-rays, physiotherapy, and massage therapy. We provide personalized care for all ages and ailments. Our treatments include intense plans for our star athlete patients to activator adjustments for seniors. Our patients are treated according to their individual needs, utilizing appropriate adjustment techniques including inversion table therapy, cervical traction, electrical muscle stimulation, massage therapy, and ultrasound to provide pain relief.
Dr. Newton is an alumnus from California State University Long Beach with a Bachelors Degree Psychology and received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Southern California University -Health Sciences. Dr. Newton has two beautiful children, Sydney and Cooper. He spends his leisure time playing competitive tennis to stay in shape. His goal is a pain-free active life for all his patients.
Dr. Newton gives presentations to the community on chiropractic care and wellness in multiple categories to help improve body health.
Liuhong Xu, L.Ac.
Liuhong Xu, L.Ac. practices acupuncture, cupping, acupressure, moxibustion, herbs and nutrition to not only treat symptoms, but also the root cause of ailments.
Acupuncture can improve vitality, circulation, restore the natural balance of the body and encourage the bodies’ own healing process physically and mentally. It is respected around the world because of its significant effect and safety, especially for chronic diseases such as arthritis, headache, low back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, irritable bowel syndrome, asthma, menopausal syndrome, insomnia, fatigue, anxiety, depression, etc.
Xu has been a doctor of Chinese medicine for 19 years. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Orthopedics and a Master’s degree in Gynecology at Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, China. She has furthered her studies in nutrition and functional medicine and is an instructor at South Baylo University in Los Angeles.

David DeBillie, LMT
David has joined our wonderful massage team bringing with him some outstanding skills. He graduated from the Western Institute of Neuromuscular Therapy in April 2002 with a 1,000 hour certification in Swedish, Sports and Neuromuscular/Trigger Point therapies. A California State Licensed Massage therapist as well as an active member of The American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). David is also a Level 1 Stott certified pilates instructor. David’s goal for you would be to reduce aches and pains, increase range of motion, help with stability of back and core muscles, build better understanding of why you are in pain, and have some self maintanence advice along with some stretch work. His goal is to help you be the best you can be.
