Dr. Kamau Kokayi, M.D.

Dr. Kamau Kokayi is a Yale trained physician with over thirty years of practice in the field of Alternative and Holistic medicine.

Dr. Kokayi distinguished himself as a scholar at Cornell University and passed on a full scholarship to law school and entrance to Harvard medical school. Instead he pursued a unique course of study at Yale medical school in 1978 where he focused on what was then called Holistic medicine.

With the completion of his family practice residency with Board Certification, along with parallel training in the fields of homeopathy and Chinese medicine, and later applied kinesiology, Dr. Kokayi entered the field of primary care medicine in 1985. He has cultivated his craft and augmented his diagnostic and therapeutic skill set with countless workshops, trainings, and trips to various parts of the world, seeking out medical wisdom from other cultures and civilizations.

Dr. Richard Ochs, D.O.

Dr. Richard Ochs has been a licensed Doctor of Osteopathy since August 1973. He has extensive experience in drugless healing for orthopedic problems and pain management.

Dr. Adam Silver, D.O.

Dr. Silver has experience and training in both conventional and alternative approaches to pain management and musculoskeletal dysfunction and disease.

As an Osteopathically trained Physician, Dr. Silver has a keen understanding of physical anatomy and the biomechanics of the body. He’s an expert at using various manual medicine techniques including cranial osteopathy which supports his holistic approach to physical rehabilitation.

Dr. Vishal Thakral, D.O.

Dr. Vishal Thakral is double board certified in Sports Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Johns Hopkins Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation trained. Dr. Thakral is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Western University of Health Sciences.

His primary focus is non-operative orthopedics utilizing musculoskeletal ultrasound guided procedures to perform state-of-the-art treatments such as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), Prolotherapy, and Regenerative Medicine. Many musculoskeletal and orthopedic injuries are often treated by methods such as physical/chiropractic therapy, cortisone injections or even surgery, however regenerative injections can help repair many injuries to the joints and spine. Dr. Thakral is passionate about diagnosing underlying causes and pain generators to specific orthopedic conditions and tailoring a treatment program that consists of non surgical interventions.

Dr. Stephanie Higashi, D.C. is the CEO and Founder of Health Atlast. She has been practicing for over a decade and works passionately to help patients achieve their health goals. She collaborates with other practitioners in the office to provide the best customized treatment plan for patients for long term stable results without the use of drugs and surgery whenever possible.

Dr. Wayne Higashi D.C., A.T.C.

Dr. Wayne Higashi has been a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic since December 2000 and Certified Athletic Trainer since 1996.

He graduated from Southern California University of Health Sciences in 2000 and from the University of California Santa Barbara in 1996.

A member of the California Chiropractic Association, National Athletic Trainers Association, and the Southern California University of Health Sciences Alumni Association, he also has P.A.D.I. Rescue Diver Certification and American Red Cross CPR First Aid Certification.

Dr. Matthew Wong, D.C.

A graduate of Parker University, Dr. Wong believes his patients can obtain the level of health they desire by working together with his patients as a team. He looks at how the human body functions and moves as a whole as well as the integrity of the spine and nervous system and locally, joint by joint. By correcting misalignment of the spine, which causes nerves and joints to be damaged, we are able to restore motion, eliminate pain and correct negative affects on specific areas and organs as well as the body as a whole.

Dr. Wong also works with patients in “performance care.” He personally enjoys cross fit training and soccer, which explains his passion for helping people unlock their potential so they can reach new heights in their training as well as their health and fitness goals more quickly and/or efficiently.

Oscar A. Alvarado, D.C., received his undergraduate degree from Point Loma Nazarene University with a joint major in Biology and Chemistry. He went on to graduate with a doctoral degree in chiropractic from the Southern California University of Health Sciences’ Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. Upon completion of his clinical clerkship, he received the Dr. Lester McCoy Clinical Excellence Award for demonstrating excellence in all aspects of diagnosis, treatment and patient management.

Tara Das, L.Ac. is a board certified Chinese medicine practitioner with a focus on holistic healing. Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, Tara grew up observing and learning from her parents-a western medicine physician and a clinical social worker. A gymnast for 10 years, Suzette’s career was sidelined by debilitating injuries she suffered pursuing the sport. Chiropractic treatment and massage led to a full recovery and accounts for her passion for helping her patients with therapeutic massage.

Greta Recinto, RYT, Therapeutic Yoga

Greta takes a holistic approach to heal and strengthen patients through yoga and other exercise modalities. Greta grew up in Texas as an athlete playing team sports which led to her passion in health and wellness.
